There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroad, cold, confused and without a road map. The choices that dawn upon us in those very moments can determine and define the rest of our living days. It is human nature that we are afraid of the future, of what is to come, afraid of the unexpected and when young, afraid of the dark. One word, uncertainty. Many choose to turn back, walk back along the beaten path. Even more choose to deny, deceive and delude themselves.
But sometimes, just sometimes, we push and strive on, pick ourselves up in the knowing that there might be something better. Something we want or desire. Something that could yet lead to greatness. We look towards sources of inspiration, tales of courage and victory, how many people before have found the strength to press on. Strength beyond our very own, bravery like no other. Dare to dream.
We only know who we truly are after tests and trials. Boulders along a path that could potentially bog us down in our quest. God, people or nature. Nothing can stand in the way of the passionate and driven. The person you really want to be exists, somewhere on the other side of hard work, faith and belief.
Many people are still at the crossroad, unable to come to a decision whether as to progress towards the light or withdraw into the darkness. No one could predict what lies in the future, everyone is fearful. But what if we choose to withdraw and find that the beaten trail we arrived on doesn't exist anymore, that Nature was a step behind us and the landmarks, the footprints, the memories are all now a figment of the past and is now irrecoverable. The situation now unsalvagable.
Life is a game, like so many before have mentioned. A very tough game. All the world's a stage, and the men and women, merely players.
Let shut the weary eyes of yesterday.
Think, ponder, reflect.
